Subj: $18.5 M verdict against Boy Scouts, and Connecticut

Dear __________,

Are you bothered by the recent $18.5 million verdict against the Boy Scouts? (See http://www.nytimes.com/2010/04/24/us/24scouts.html?_r=1)

If supporters of the Boy Scouts in Connecticut are bothered by that verdict, I urge them to express solidarity with and support for Catholic Archbishop Henry J. Mansell of Hartford, Bishop William E. Lori of Bridgeport and Bishop Michael R. Cote of Norwich, in their campaign to oppose a measure in the Connecticut House of Representatives that would make Connecticut the only state without a statute of limitations for the filing of sexual abuse claims concerning minors.

For further background of this email, please take a look at these entries in a blog that I write.

If you have any questions or comments, please do not hesitate to email me back.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Rob Shattuck
